NFC Business Cards

Statistics show that a large percentage of business cards are lost, forgotten, or tossed. The hottest thing in business is the NFC card; a plastic card that transfers your information to a mobile device - instantly. The mobile device need to have “NFC” (Near Field Communication) enabled and almost every Apple device is NFC ready. Instruct the phone owner to open to their Home Screen (they will try to open their camera - nope - Home Screen.) Now, hold the card behind the top of their phone and watch their eyes light up as your information pops onto their screen. Android users must enable NFC and some will have it already enabled. 

Your NFC card can have a single url encoded and that URL is transferred to the mobile device. Most NFC providers want you to use their service where they can track you, charge you for upgrades, send you offers and maybe even stop providing their proprietary service. You could, of course, have your website encoded to your card. Boom, your website pops up on the mobile device. But, what about your contact information? Your LinkedIN information? Your Instagram Page? What happens when your website changes? The solution to that is a free app called Linktree. 

We program your Linktree page on the card and you maintain the Linktree contact information and web pages. 

Linktree is a landing page that contains links to all of your social media and contact information. The concept is simple: you direct everyone to your Linktree landing page where you maintain your various links like your web page (WaltMillsProductions.net) or your Facebook page (Facebook.com/PhotosByWaltDFW) and your full contact information (Name, address, email, phone, etc.) If something changes, you only need to update Linktree and everyone using your Linktree address will see these changes. 

While you can pay for the “pro” version of Linktree, the free version offers everything you need to promote yourself or your business.

To start, go to https://Linktr.ee (the “ee” is the domain name) and select the “Sign up for free” link in the top right corner. You may be directed to use the Linktree app for your mobile operating system. You can either open the app to continue or stay on the web page. Just follow the directions to create your page. You will be asked for a suggested page name and if that name has not already been taken, you will have a bit of a vanity (easy to remember) Linktree link. If your name or business is not available (perhaps your name is John Smith) you will need to be creative- just like Gmail and select something like JohnSmith2023 as your user name.

That name will become part of the URL. In this case it will be https://linktr.ee/johnsmith2023. Write this down as we will need it to create your card. 

Your card will be white and simple: Your name printed on the top left along with the phrase “Hold me close to your phone” on the face of the card. If your company logo is public, we can add the logo to the lower right area of the card. If you are “old school” or may run into some “old school” users, we can encode the Linktree URL as a QR code on the back of the card. We offer a blank black card to impress as well as a clear card with the “electronics” and antenna clearly visible. 

A few Linktree hints:

Use the first link as your “contact” information as this is where most people will click first.

If you have social media links (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) use the dedicated links at the bottom and the social media icons will automatically display for a professional look.

Refunds? Since the cards are customized we can only correct any typos and all sales are final.

Support? If your card stops working, contact us for a resolution. If you need a new card, the first replacement is free if we receive the old card back in the mail.

Do the cards wear out or have a cutoff? You can kill the card, but generally, they just keep on working. No batteries to replace, nothing to recharge. There is no end date or reoccurring charge.
